Regrow Your Own Teeth

Goodbye Dental Implants, Dentist Grows New Teeth in Just 9 Weeks

If you’ve ever had the misfortune of losing a tooth, you may have considered dental implants in the past. You may also have been surprised to learn how expensive they are, and that oftentimes materials such as mercury or silver are used.

But what if we could actually growour teeth back? Fortunately, there is an incredible new development in oral health that could change the game entirely.

Regrow Your Own Teeth

Dr. Jeremy Mao and his team from Columbia University were able to regrow teeth using stem cells as a ‘scaffold’ for the new tooth to grow over.

Dr. Mao goes on to explain, “The missing tooth is replaced with stem cells from your body, and the tooth starts merging to the surrounding tissue on its own. This boosts the regeneration process and results in regrowth of the tooth in record time.” Essentially, this could mean the end of expensive dental surgeries used to replace damaged or missing teeth in the near future.

This would be a welcome change to the field of dental health, given the current risks that come with dental implants:

  • Research show they can increase the risk of vulnerability to illnesses in the future such as heart disease, liver disease, kidney disease and more [2].

  • Currently, implants are being done without any biocompatibility testing, which refers to the properties of materials being biologically compatible with the tissues in our body. This test ensures that materials that are being introduced to our bodies are safe for us [2].

  • Implants are often used in extraction sites where cavitations (inflammation) are already developing. Autoimmune diseases seem to be often aggravated or even start after receiving metal implants. Additionally, an event called oral galvanism occurs when you place two dissimilar metals in your mouth. You essentially create a battery that will serve to drive the ions of the metals out of the metal into your mouth and also generate electricity [2]. Our bodies rely on electric signals to operate biological systems, and when we introduce a new, foreign electrical signal, it can interfere with these processes and introduce imbalances that can contribute to health problems.

Changing The Dental

Currently, dentists are limited to the procedures that are available now, but Dr. Mao and his team are using new stem cell research to further their findings; this research could eventually be used to treat anything from broken bones to genetic disorders.

Although the process to regrow teeth takes 9 weeks, which is longer than if you were to receive a conventional procedure, it is plausible to assume that people would prefer to have a new tooth made up of their own DNA, rather than a foreign substance threatening their oral and overall health.

Dr. Mao says that the procedure is currently in the research stages and not available to the public yet, but it should be available in the near future. In the meantime, if you want to avoid conventional treatments that could be harmful, look for a good biological dentist.

Good oral health starts with good overall health, so take care of that body and it will take care of you!

Be aware with your toothpaste

There are thousands of toothpaste brands but if you are Colgate fan then you have to read this.

Recent study showed that the wide world popular brand Colgate contains harmful substance which may cause cancer and many other bad diseases. This compound is known as Triclosan and it is widely used in deodorants, hand sanitizers, antiseptics and laundry detergents. Another study, conducted and published by the magazine Chemical research in toxicology, proved that this chemical, if used in great amounts, may lead to cancer.

Our government doesn’t tell us the side effects of some chemical until terrible things happen and then it puts ban to it. This happened with the well known toxic materials such as asbestos, PCB and DT. Only one country in the world actually banned Triclosan and that is Canada. The problem with Triclosan is that it passes through the skin and goes in our bloodstream causing hormone misbalance. Despite all this proves and studies, Colgate still claims that this chemical is completely safe and tested. It is left to us to decide whether we trust them or not and if we will continue to use their toothpaste.

Why You Should Have Sex In The Morning?

Sex in the Morning is Good

Starting your morning with activity in the bed has a host of benefits:

Increased Bonding With Your Partner:

Psychologists point to the fact that when you begin your day making love to your partner, the feeling of bliss shared, remains with each one throughout the day, providing reassurance and a secured feeling of ‘being there for each other’. This helps each one to deal with the problems better and face challenges. Research proves, that somewhere in the sub conscious mind, a feeling of oneness does exist when it has been sparked off early morning. Having sex in the morning releases the feel-good chemical oxytocin, which makes couples feel loving and bonded all day long.

Improves Fertility in Men and Women:

Frequent morning sex can also improve sperm quality and even improve fertility in a woman. In a study conducted at the Sydney IVF Clinic in Wollongong, AU, researchers studied 118 men who had higher than normal DNA sperm damage accessed by the DNA Fragmentation Index (DFI). The Australian scientists instructed the men to ejaculate daily for a week to lessen their DNA sperm damage. The results of the study showed that 96 of men experienced a 12 percent decrease in sperm damage. The less DNA damage a sperm has the more likely a woman’s fertility increases.

Contributes to Healthy Hair and Skin:

An orgasm during morning sex releases chemicals that can increase estrogen levels in the body and improve the tone and texture of your skin, and hair. Blood circulation is improved during sex which helps get oxygen to the skin and provides a natural glow to your face and possibly nourishes hair.

Decreases Cardiovascular Risks:

The act of having morning sex multiple times a week can reduce the risk of having a heart attack or stroke by half. In a study conducted at Queens University in Belfast, researchers followed 1,000 middle-aged men over a period of 10 years. Researchers in Belfast compared the participants of their study to the participants of a study published in the British Medical Journal to study how having an orgasm can affect a man’s health. As a follow-up, researchers focused on the cardiovascular health of the men and found that a man can reduce his risk of cardiovascular disease by half if he has sex two to three times a week.

Increases Immunity:

The production of Immunoglobulin A (IgA) -an antibody that protects against infection is increased during morning sex. During sexual activity, the production the IgA antibody takes place in mucosal linings of the female genital tract that provides a barrier to prevent transmission of infectious diseases.

Better Performance:

Men’s testosterone levels are highest in the morning after guys have recharged with hours of sleep, which helps them perform better.

Necessity of Oral Health during Pregnancy

Recent findings have reported that oral bacteria and their by-products can possibly pass the placental barrier keeping oral health at prime importance during pregnancy. An awareness related to oral health during pregnancy cannot be neglected or avoided in order to minimize the complications.

This article focuses on few points related to the necessity of oral health during pregnancy.

Pregnancy comes with many responsibilities making expecting mothers more concerned about their health. However, many pregnant women may not be aware of oral health and its effect on the developing child. Negligence of oral health is quite common during pregnancy due to lack of alertness of oral hygiene and its effect on systemic health. Moreover, pregnancy discomforts like frequent bouts of nausea, increased physical demands, weight gain or certain dental problems like pregnancy gingivitis or inflammation of gums may be dangerous to developing fetus.

Risk of oral problems during pregnancy: Few common oral problems associated with pregnancy are as follows.

Pregnancy Gingivitis: Hormonal changes during pregnancy leads to pregnancy gingivitis. It is a condition of bleeding gums, redness. Moreover inflammation, swelling and tenderness are also observed. Ignorance of such problems may lead to serious gum disease.  Frequent cleaning can avoid such dental issues. Progesterone levels are elevated during pregnancy which stimulates the production of prostaglandins and leads to inflammation of blood vessels in gums.

Tooth Decay: Diet during pregnancy is of high importance. It is designed to nourish both mother and unborn baby. Diet rich in carbohydrates actually increases the risk of tooth decay. The morning sickness increases acid secretion in the mouth which is harmful to enamel.

Pregnancy tumors: Overgrowth of tissue on gums in pregnant women are called as pregnancy tumors. They are noncancerous and generally observed in the second trimester of the gestation period. It is nothing but swollen gums between teeth. The bleeding and reddening of gums observed in such conditions.

Periodontal disease and preterm birth: The untreated gum disease or periodontal problems can development periodontitis characterized by inflammation and infection of the gums and supporting structures of the teeth. This ultimately leads to loss of supporting material and finally the teeth themselves.

A study result has revealed that there is a relation between preterm birth and presence of gum diseases in the pregnant women. The reason is not yet known. However, research study findings have evidence that oral bacteria or their byproducts can pass placental barrier. This initiate inflammatory response leading to preterm birth.

Another correlation exists between the gum disease and the increased rate of pre-eclampsia, a condition of high blood pressure during pregnancy. The positive correlation suggests that gum disease may cause stress to the blood vessels of the mother, placenta and the fetus.

The basic periodontal therapies like oral hygiene instructions, scaling, root planing and prophylaxis can substantially decrease the level of prostaglandin responsible for inflammatory response.

The regular treatment and follow-up in pregnant women can maintain good oral health and minimize the risk of preterm birth.

Dental treatment during pregnancy:

The dental procedures mostly include the use of X-rays and use of anesthesia.

In the case of pregnancy, these procedures can be used with precaution.

Therefore, before sitting on dental chair patient should declare her pregnancy to the physician.

Untreated dental infections can harm fetus as well as the mother.

The emergency situations request use of dental radiographs which can’t wait.

The radiation of dental x-ray is generally very low and precaution is always taken for lowest radiation exposure. A leaded apron including collar, shields can be used to prevent abdominal exposure to the x-ray radiation. Use of dental X-ray is not at all contraindicated in pregnancy when used with precaution.

The use of local anesthesia is also not contraindicated in the pregnancy.

A clinical trial result showed that there is no harm in the use of local anesthetics during pregnancy. It is not linked with increased risk for major medical problems like cerebral palsy, cleft lip and heart defect in newborns.

The medication prescribed during dental treatment mainly includes local anesthetics, analgesics, and antibiotics. Most of them can be used with safety precautions.
Each drug has its own pregnancy category which should be considered during its use.
The antibiotic like tetracycline can permanently cause discoloration of developing teeth.

Prevention: Dentists can educate patients with following points to avoid problems associated with oral hygiene. The patient should declare the pregnancy to  the Dentist follow routine oral checkup. undergo all elective and emergency procedures. follow good oral hygiene practice ask for a better toothpaste in the case of morning sickness avoid sweets and snacks which increase the risk of tooth decay have healthy and balanced diet Awareness of oral health during pregnancy is a must to avoid complications in mothers as well as in fetus.

EAT 3 BANANAS A DAY........

THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS TO YOUR BRAIN, HEART, AND WAISTLINE WHEN YOU EAT 3 BANANAS A DAY...

Did you know that if you eat at least three bananas a day, you can significantly reduce your risk of having a stroke or heart attack?

According to British and Italian researchers, consuming one banana at breakfast, one at lunch, and one in the evening will provide enough potassium to reduce the risk of a blood clot in the brain by 21%.

The 2011 report, published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, suggests that stroke cases can be prevented or even reduced by the potassium levels found in certain foods, including bananas, fish, spinach, and lentils.

Researchers discovered that a daily potassium intake of around 1,600 mg can lower stroke risk. An average-sized banana contains approximately 500 mg of potassium—three a day can lower blood pressure and help with proper brain and nerve function.

BANANA NUTRIENTS AND BENEFITS

Bananas are not only packed full of potassium, but they are also good sources of vitamin B6, vitamin C, manganese, biotin, and dietary fiber, which can help to properly regulate the digestive system. The average banana contains approximately 108 calories; they contain little cholesterol, fat, or sodium. (all of which can contribute to weight gain.)

Since bananas are low in glycemic carbohydrates, they make a delicious snack for athletes who are looking for anextra boost of energy. Some research even shows that consuming three bananas can give you enough energy to complete an intense 90-minute workout.

FURTHER HEALTH BENEFITS OF EATING 3 BANANAS A DAY

In addition to significantly reducing the risk of heart attack and stroke, by consuming three bananas a day (equivalent to 1,500 milligrams of potassium) the benefits are numerous:

1. Reduces depression: Bananas contain tryptophan, a type of protein that the body converts into serotonin—serotonin is a compound that relaxes the body and helps to improve mood.

2. Regulates blood pressure: The potassium found in bananas can help regulate heart function and the body’s fluid balance; this can help reduce the risk of blood pressure and stroke.

3. Treats constipation: An average-sized banana contains just over three grams of fiber; if you are constipated, then try incorporating bananas into your diet to restore your bowels—a great, natural alternative to laxatives.

4. Cures hangovers: Perhaps not an issue everyone has to deal with—but banana smoothies sweetened with honey can help treat hangovers. Bananas will help to soothe the stomach and the honey will restore dwindling blood sugar levels.

5. Boosts bone mass: Research shows that the potassium found in bananas can help prevent bones from decaying at a rapid rate.

6. Fights stress: Potassium helps regulate the heartbeat. When we feel stressed, our metabolic rates rise and potassium levels drop—eating potassium-rich foods such as bananas can help rebalance the heartbeat.

7. Smoking: Bananas contain vitamins B12 and B6, along with potassium and magnesium, which can help the body recuperate from the effects of nicotine withdrawal.

8. PMS: Bananas contain vitamin B6, which will help normalize the body’s glucose levels, which can positively affect your mood.

9. Anemia: This is a condition where your body does not have enough red blood cells to carry oxygen to the necessary tissues. Since bananas are rich in iron, they can help produce hemoglobin. (Low hemoglobin levels generally indicate anemia.)
